DESCRIPTION
2020 Chevrolet Spark LT
2020 Chevrolet Spark LT — Cruise Control, Rear Vision Camera, Heated Outside Mirrors, 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot Capability
Fully inspected. Every vehicle gets a detailed mechanical and safety inspection before it's sold.
Read the CARFAX yourself, free, right here on this page. No name, no email and no form required. We believe you should be able to see the vehicle's history upfront.
Plenty of driveways around here have one vehicle that does the real work and one that does everything else, and it's the second one where the money either quietly goes or quietly stays. This is a good candidate for that second spot. It comes with two foldable keys, so nobody has to negotiate over which jacket the fob is in, and between the power windows with driver express up and down, the Tilt-Wheel steering column and the armrest on the driver's seat, whoever gets in next can be settled in about four seconds. There's a storage tray in the rear centre console, cup holders for two up front and two in the back, an auxiliary power outlet in the front centre stack bin, and a map pocket on the passenger seatback for the paperwork that accumulates by Thursday. Single-zone manual air conditioning with a cabin air filter is one dial rather than a menu, which some weeks is exactly what you want, and the fuel filler door has a remote release, so you're not walking around the car in the rain to open it.
Then there's the version of the week where you're down to Courtenay and back four days out of five, and the drive itself was never the problem — the fuel bill was. The 1.4L DOHC four makes 98 hp and 94 lb-ft and sends it through a continuously variable transmission to the front wheels, which is an unhurried, unfussy sort of arrangement, and the 35-litre tank is small for a straightforward reason: a car this size simply doesn't ask for much. Cruise control with set and resume sits on the steering wheel where your thumb already is, there's a footrest on the driver's side for the long straight stretches, and the outside temperature display tells you what kind of morning you're dealing with before you commit to a jacket. Audio runs through six speakers from a roof-mounted antenna, there's 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capability and Chevrolet Connected Access capability on board, and the oil life monitoring system keeps track of the servicing so you aren't doing that arithmetic in your head. Solar absorbing glass takes some of the edge off the afternoons the coast decides to be sunny about it.
Saturday, Tyee Plaza, and it's doing that fine horizontal rain that gets you wetter than a proper downpour would. The hatch opens onto a cargo area with a security shelf you can pull across whatever you'd rather not advertise through the glass, and a cargo compartment lamp so you can see what you're doing once the afternoon has got away from you. There are coat hooks in the back for the wet jacket that has to go somewhere. Reversing out afterwards, the Rear Vision Camera gives you a clearer view of what's behind you, the rear-window defogger and the two-speed intermittent rear wiper keep the back glass genuinely clear rather than smeared, and the heated outside mirrors sort themselves out without being asked. The halogen projector headlamps have automatic exterior lamp control, so they come on as the light goes rather than three blocks later, and the LED daytime running lamps with signature lighting make a small red car easier to pick out in the grey, which on this coast is a decent share of the year.
And then there's the evening nobody puts in the calendar: somewhere out on the Island Highway, the light long gone, and one corner has quietly gone soft. The tire pressure monitoring system can warn you before it turns into a surprise, and if it does happen, under the cargo floor there's a real compact spare — a T105/70D14 on a 14-inch steel wheel — along with a mechanical jack and the tools to use it, rather than a can of sealant and a long wait for somebody else. The 185/55R15 all-seasons have enough sidewall to be forgiving about our road surfaces, four-wheel antilock brakes look after the stopping, and hill start assist can hold the car for a moment while you get moving again on a grade. There are frontal and knee airbags for the driver and front passenger, seat-mounted side-impact airbags and roof rail-mounted head-curtain airbags for all outboard seating positions, with a Passenger Sensing System up front, three-point belts in every position, and LATCH lower anchors and tethers if a child seat is ever going to live in the back. The 375 cold-cranking-amp battery is a sensible thing to have on the mornings that start cold, and an engine immobilizer looks after it while you're inside for the day.
On warranty we'll be straight with you: a 2020 is past GM's five-year or 100,000 km powertrain coverage, so there's no factory warranty left to lean on, and the price is set with that in mind. The listing page carries a generic "Balance of Factory Warranty" flag that the years don't support here, so please disregard it. Extended warranty options are available if you'd like some protection going forward, and we're happy to walk you through what's actually worth having rather than pointing you at the most expensive line on the sheet. Give us a call and we'll go through the options with you properly.
Financing is available for every credit situation through more than twelve of Canada's leading lenders including TD Auto Finance, RBC and CIBC, and most approvals come back the same day. We'd rather set up a payment that still makes sense to you a few years from now than one that only looks good on signing day, so tell us what actually works and we'll build it around that. And if getting to Campbell River is the awkward part, we deliver throughout BC.
